Show #26 – October 7, 2007

I don’t know how I made it this far and haven’t used this intro yet!

Seems to be a good week for bunnies anyway.

This week marks 6 months of the MuppetCast. Can you believe it? Me neither, but here we are. Thank you! To celebrate, I’ve re-designed the website at http://www.muppetcast.com, and added a new poll. What song would you say is the quintessential Muppet song? Make sure and vote as many times as you want!

If you like what you hear on the podcast, please consider donating to the show. Podcasting is a great hobby, but it’s not necessarily a cheap one. Thanks again!

This week we spend most of the time covering listener email and requests. I’m also proud to bring you a new listener interview, this time with a former MuppetVision 3D cast member.

Happy Belated Birthday to Steve Whitmire and Kevin Clash!

I’m so glad that the Muppets will be well represented at MouseFest this year! Unfortunately I won’t be able to make it to Florida in December, but thanks to Fred from Magic Meets, there will be a Muppet Meet at MouseFest. Whew!

Congrats to the Fraggle Rock DVD Contest winner…listen and see if it’s you!

Make sure to check out the 2007 Muppet ornaments from Carlton Cards. There’s Kermit & Piggy, Animal, and Elmo. Also, take a minute and watch the Lowe’s Sesame Street announcment film. No talking, smoking, or chair eating!

Cleveland rocks! Don’t believe me? Well, Kermit the Frog spent some time there recently. Read all about his trip, courtesy of Master Replicas.

Make sure to get over to Project Puppet and vote on the Top 10 in their Once Upon a Puppet contest. We have a listener whose friend has an entry in the Top 10; the puppet is Jim Reaper.

Check out Steve Oliver‘s weekly quizzes on his Myspace page. Myspace has been leaving me cold for a while now, but Steve’s page reminds me that there’s always hope! Hehe…great stuff.

October Toys has some great stuff available right now. Looks like their Halloween line is out. Cool!

Two YouTube clips this week: the final scenes of the Fraggle Rock finale, and Kermit singing the Minstrel Song from Sesame Street.

A link from Guy Hutchinson, concerning the movie “Trapped in Paradise“, starring Florency Stanley and Gerard Parks (Doc).

Want to take a class all about Jim Henson’s artwork? Get yourself out to Santa Cruz!

Thanks to Brad Ayers for coming on the show and recounting some old memories of working at MuppetVision 3D. We had a lot of fun, and I definitely learned a few things.

You can always email me at me@muppetcast.com, or just call me at 614-364-4270, the voice line for the show. I’m proud to say that Bell, Book & Comic is the official sponsor of the MuppetCast. Life should be more fun!

Have a great week.

–Steve
