Show #19 – August 19, 2007

First, I want to say that I’m really, really sorry about the long show. But when you miss a whole week, you have to make up somewhere!

Special thanks to Bell, Book & Comic for continuing to sponsor the MuppetCast. Life should be more fun!

I’m happy to be back, fresh from the Puppets Up festival in Almonte, ON, Canada. This week we hear from Jim Napolitano, a very talented puppeteer, whom you’ll find on a number of children’s television shows, including Between The Lions. Jim was performing as Father Goose at the festival.

We also chat with Eric & Dan from Mouse Guest Weekly. These guys are big Muppet fans, and even considered doing their own Muppet podcast when they first started out, two years ago. I think you’ll really enjoy this segment, listening to podcasters other than just myself yammer on about the Muppets.

Blinkyfish at Muppet Central has posted a wonderful YouTube link to Gonzo, Elmo, and Zoe talking at the recent Muppets, Music & Magic. The Cinema Arts Centre also has their own MySpace page, with some photos from the event.

From the Puppets Up festival, listener MrsPepper has uploaded some of her own photos from the recent festival! Go check ’em out. No, I’m not in any of them.

Find The MuppetCast nightly on Extinct Attractions Radio! Every night at 10pm.

Plenty of goodness to catch up on over at The Muppet News Flash. Also at ToughPigs. Also in the news, there’s a great story about the Henson Company‘s monthly performances at the Avalon Hollywood of Puppet Up! Make sure to check out the Franz Oz interview, where he talks about his new movie, Death at a Funeral.

Heard of hidden Mickeys? Check out this hidden Kermit!

Finally, make sure to listen to Mouse Guest Weekly this week, as you’ll hear yours truly talking with Eric & Dan about the Muppets, and new Muppet attractions that the Disney company SHOULD add to their parks! Seriously, I’m not talking about Disney in this guest spot! We’re talking Muppets (and new ways we should be able to experience them).

Again, I apologize for the length of this particular episode. I hope you’ll agree with me that it’s worth it, and remember I’ll be back next week with a video podcast, along with a new audio podcast!

If you’d like to contact the MuppetCast, email the show at me@muppetcast.com, or call the voicemail line at 614-364-4270.
