The Muppet Madness Tournament – FINAL ROUND

It’s been a long, hard road, but we finally made it to the Muppet Madness Championship Game! This is the big one! For all the marbles! All the beans! Winner takes all! Losers have to eat the Swedish Chef’s marble-and-bean soup!

There are a couple things you should know about this round. First, you may notice that you can vote for any of five contestants in this match, as opposed to the two-man (or woman, or bear, or pig, etc.) matches we’ve seen in the other voting rounds. So choose wisely! Second, you can now vote once every six hours, as opposed to the 12 that’s been the standard throughout the previous rounds.

Let’s make this Championship Match one to remember! We’ve seen some incredible matches in this year’s tournament, and this final round promises to be even more exciting! Make sure to listen to The MuppetCast podcast to hear the commentary and results of the tournament, and follow the Muppet mayhem over at ToughPigs.com.

I think Bert & Ernie can take it easily, because they’re the character(s?) staple that all age groups know. Yeah, I’ll go out on the limb of my treehouse and say even more than Kermit.

  • Zyzz says:

Bert & Ernie’s aesthetics overpower everyone.

Me implementing the bert stare has gotten me out of many awkward situations. Thank you Bert brah. The misc has your back.

  • TehMisc says:

    Kermit….

U mad Bert is stylin’ on you?

  • John Miller says:

I would have voted for Bert if he were alone. Ernie is riding on his coattails and I will not see him rewarded for it. Sorry Bert.

    Come at me bro

  • Brian Peppers says:

    COME AT ME KERMIT

  • Clive Sepps says:

I first saw Bert for a mear hundredth of a second and I was gone. I fell through space and time, I was everything and I was nothing, I lived forever withtin a second. Every Miscer I had ever met, all those times I had clapped dem cheeks , that time i couldn’t open that tub of whey protein, I lived through my life again, every second of it through Berts cold stare. One look into the eyes of Bert and time and space was history.

  • zackmorris says:

Bert holds the power in his eyes. Even if no one voted….he would still win.

COME AT ME BRO (zyzz voice)

  • keven says:

Clive, did your battle with Bert turn you into Clive the White?

  • CTPump says:

Yah, I like Bert. Kids like him too. I like kids.

  • Drew says:

Choosing between Bert & Ernie and Kermit is like Sophie’s Choice for me. My inner 4 year-old is screaming at me that B&E are the obvious choice; but throughout the years, I’ve felt that Kermit was my Muppet totem, the being in the universe who I identify with (and in high school even was my nickname).

Kermit is the great constant of the Muppetverse. From Sam and Friends, through Sesame Street, to the Muppet Show and beyond, Kermit is there, always and forever. He even ventured into Fraggle Rock and introduced us to Frogtown Hollow. In the end, the frog gets my vote(s).

Ernie and Bert, can you ever forgive me?

  • desertsider says:

    Bert’s pupils are quite dilated…

  • jEEP BRAHHH says:

    BERT WINS!! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAYY!

  • MCHoopless says:

How many people are voting Bert & Ernie to spite the frog because they thought he was so likely to win he may as well not run? I might have :S Very surprised at the current standings.

  • The Misc. says:

    drew pls go.

  • h4te says:

    @MCHoopless

Bert & Ernie are winning not out of spite, but from their actual fans (actually, more accurately, Bert fans). Once you’re given the Bert Stare, you can never go back.

Oh u mad cuz Bert is stylin’ on u?

  • Trevor says:

The frog’s always been my favorite but it would be hard to be upset if Bert & Ernie were to win. They’ve certainly put in their time.

Hopefully, this won’t put a wedge in Kermit and Bert & Ernie’s friendship. Goodness knows, I haven’t seen them together in a long time. Sad.

  • swarheely says:

oh come on guys, gonzo is clearly the best out of all of these!!

  • Laura says:

I think people are voting Bert & Ernie just to prove a point.

  • Craig says:

All I know is, this contest has no losers to me. I love ‘em all and had a hard time deciding on every one of ‘em!

  • Clive Sepps says:

    @Laura

No, where voting Bert and Ernie because Bert is god, and on the 7th day, Bert stared.

Keep your incorrect thoughts to yourself.

  • keven says:

Since there’s clearly a landslide happening with the duo, I’m voting for gonzo, since this looks likes the real race to watch, if Gonzo can beat Kermit for the Silver.

  • Beauregard says:

It’s a hard life for man’s best friend, I see.

  • David Counterman says:

Remember a Vote for Kermit is a vote for Jim.

  • And while that’s true David, a vote for Bert & Ernie is a vote for both Jim and Frank!

  • Fred says:

Steve Whitmire must be feeling very good now, as he performs 3 of the 6 characters that are in the running.

  • AmyKB says:

SPROCKET! SPROCKET! rah rah rah!! ;)

  • Coyote42 says:

    Vote Artiste! Vote GONZO!

  • Beauregard says:

Vote Sprocket! You can never leave the magic, never!

  • Love Me Some Gonzo says:

Gonzo, we all know that even though you’re the perennial outsider, you’ve got the biggest heart of them all. You win in my book.

  • Muppetfreak says:

we should split Bert and Ernie up next year. The power of both of them is almost unfair to everyone else!

  • I know that Bear had no chance of winning, but only 4 percent?! I grew up with the Show and the Street but when I would watch Bear with my son, even I would give up the old school for that dance and sniff at the camera. Well, at least he made it to the final 4.

  • Heather says:

I’m Gonzo (or Animal) all the way…but alas, it’s not looking good for my little blue weirdo.

  • Jess says:

    @David Counterman

I heartily agree; a vote for Kermit is a vote for Jim. Kermit is to Jim Henson what Mickey Mouse is to Disney. With Henson, “it all started with a frog.” Kermit all the way!

  • keven says:

Steve, Joe, and Ryan, thank you very much for the fun that was had this last month due to the tournament!
