We’ve reached the Championship Round of the Muppet Madness Tournament! Ryan, Joe, and I give the rundown from last week’s matches, as well as our thoughts on this week’s five-way fight for the win. Make sure to stop in and chat with us on Ustream on Wednesday night, and in the ToughPigs chatroom on Thursday night. Chat begins at 9pm Eastern both nights.

Have you seen the blog “Muppet Musings“? If not, check it out, it’s a good Muppet fansite!

Listener Rafi Levavy sent a link to NPR’s “Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me” featuring Geroge Stephanopoulos, discussing Mr. Snuffleupagus. And yes, both of those are spelled correctly. I checked.

Alma Baratta found a wonderful clip of John Denver and Kermit the Frog performing at the US Embassy in Moscow from the 1980s. She also found and sent the video montage from this year’s Oscar awards featuring the Dom DeLuise clip from the Muppet Movie.

Disney’s Muppets Studio released a new video to the web on April 1. Big Mean Carl dressed as a bunny, eating other bunnies, and singing Stand By Me. Brilliant!

The all-new Stuffed and Unstrung from the Jim Henson Company is now officially playing at the Union Square Theatre in NYC.

Brian Henson spoke with NY Magazine about a variety of topics, including the Dark Crystal Sequal.

Oddly enough, so did artist Brian Froud.

Congratulations to SesameStreet.org on winning a Peabody Award!

  1. I found an error in this show: Jeff Moss wrote “Rubber Duckie”, not Joe Raposo.

  2. Hey steve the link featuring the Dom DeLuise clip from the Muppet Movie, has been removed thought I’d let you know.

  3. I can’t believe Sesame Street is doing well around the world plus Sesame Tree’s New Character Archie should be a real excitement to hear about.
