Welcome to the first show of 2010! To celebrate the new year we’ll look at a great Muppet TV special that aired in January of 1896, “The Muppets: A Celebration of 30 Years“. Sesame Street was less than 20 years old way back then, if you can believe it!

The MuppetCast Street Gang Giveaway Contest is now underway! Send an email to to enter. Winners will be announced on shows 144 and 145.

The MuppetCast is sponsored by our friends at Bell, Book & Comic. Life should be more Fun!

Muppet Trivia deals with Baby Sinclair.

KerMattTheFrog received a very special gift this Christmas: a personally signed piece of Big Bird artwork by Caroll Spinney. Spinney has performed Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch since Sesame Street’s debut in 1969, and regularly features his artwork at the store Arts & Framing.

Don Barrie sent his New Year wishes to the MuppetCast audience via voicemail, and mentioned his ongoing project, his song blog.

Joe Vecciarelli continues to CubeCraft his own Muppet menagerie. Here are five new patterns he sent this week:

Oscar 1
Oscar 2
Cookie Monster

Nic Kramer requested a special song from Alaina Reed Hall, the late actress who played Olivia on Sesame Street. Ms. Hall passed away just recently, and we continue to celebrate her life through Nic’s request.
