Muppet Parade FloatMacy’s celebrates 90 years of a beloved Thanksgiving tradition with the 90th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on November 24. And who better to launch the festive occasion than the Muppets? Be sure to tune into NBC at 9:00am on Thanksgiving Day to see Kermit, Miss Piggy, and the rest of the gang open the parade with a musical number. The Muppets and humans of Sesame Street will also once again be featured later in the parade.

While the parade began in 1924, it was suspended from 1942-1944 due to World War II. 2016 marks the 90th parade since its inception. The parade will feature an assortment of colorful floats and dazzling balloons (including a recreation of the Felix the Cat balloon, which debuted as the first large balloon in the parade in 1927).  There will also be many other live performers including Tony Bennett, Sarah McLachlan, De La Soul, Kelsea Ballerini, and Aloe Blacc.

Watch Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Sam the Eagle, Pepe the King Prawn, the Swedish Chef, Dr. Teeth, and Animal show off their skills auditioning for The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in the video below.
