Dance your cares away, Fraggle Rock is returning to HBO! Fraggle Rock premiered on the premium channel as HBO’s first original series in 1983. The show ran for a total of five seasons through 1987. All 96 episodes have been digitally remastered by Los Angeles-based postproduction and film restoration studio illuminate. The show will air on HBO broadcast channels by the end of the year and will also be available for streaming via HBO GO, HBO NOW, and HBO on Demand.
“In remastering the series, illuminate has created a contemporary look for the series with meticulous attention paid to every detail – sharpening the images, cleaning up the contrast, increasing the vibrancy of the colors and re-formatting for wide-screen – all under the careful supervision of Brian Henson,” said Richard Goldsmith, executive vice president of global distribution for the Jim Henson Company, in a news release. “We’ll engage a whole new audience who will love meeting the Fraggles, Gorgs, and Doozers.”
