This week a number of theaters throughout the US (and at least one in the UK) will be holding screenings of Jim Henson’s Labyrinth, in memory of the late David Bowie. Bowie, who passed away on Sunday, January 10, played the role of Jareth the Goblin King in the 1986 film.
The Carolina Theatre of Durham, North Carolina, will be showing a free screening on Saturday, January 16, in Fletcher Hall. The Carolina Theatre is located at 309 W Morgan St in Durham. More information is available at http://www.carolinatheatre.org/.
The Art Theatre of Long Beach, California, will also be screening Labyrinth this week. The screening at the Art Theatre will be held on Friday, January 16, at 11:15pm.

Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, will be screening the film as well, on Sunday, January 17, at 5:55pm. Due to high demand for tickets, a second screening has been scheduled for Sunday, January 24. A collection will also be taken at both screenings for a local charity called Coping with Cancer NE.
