Joe Hennes joins us fresh from his trip to Walt Disney World, with a wonderful look at MuppetVision 3D (and the rest of the parks) through the eyes of a lifetime Muppet fan who’s never seen the film before. This is it for The MuppetCast’s coverage of the 2011 Muppet Madness Tournament. Technically there’s one more day to vote in the Championship Round (and the voting has been teetering back and forth all day), but this is the final show in which we get to cover any of it. By next week, we’ll have crowned our Muppet champion and the tournament will be history!

Since we aren’t able to discern a clear winner – Super Grover or Statler & Waldorf – Ryan, Joe, and I give some top-notch tournament analysis, and then shortly decide to call it a day and play a bunch of Super Grover and Statler & Waldorf clips. We sincerely hope our laziness will inspire you to pick your favorite out of these two, and then spend hours and hours voting for them on our website. VIDEO: Kermit interviewing “Jack”, who jumped over the candlestick

The Muppets made it to the CBS Early Show this past week, along with Cat Cora, to do a little in-studio cooking. Comedic results were good. Cooking results, maybe not so much.

VIDEO: Will.i.am on Sesame Street with the new song “What I Am”. Look for this on Sesame Street’s new season, starting September 27.

Here’s the original, classic footage of Gene Shalit and Jim Henson discussing the famous NBC painted pipes.

And here, in the same space decades later, are Frank Oz (who helped Jim paint the original project) and news anchor Brian Williams.

Finally, here’s the footage from the TODAY Show, featuring Jimmy Fallon and Frank Oz unveiling the pipes as the newest stop on the studio tour! It was Fallon’s idea to feature this as an official exhibit, and our hats go off to him for that.

The new Muppet film has an official release date! Most people wouldn’t get too excited about a movie that doesn’t come out until Christmas Day 2011, but we Muppet fans are truly a different breed.

Z from the GeekDad blog tells us about some cool new Sesame Street games coming to you local Nintendo DS or Wii.

Jim Henson’s Fantastic World is now on display at the Museum of Science & Industry in Chicago. Check out their official website for more details.
