Show #40 - January 13, 2008
Hello and welcome to The MuppetCast! Feel free to subscribe to the show in iTunes, and make sure to say hello at the Muppet Central Forums.
This week is Beatles week on The MuppetCast. The Muppets have covered many Beatle songs over the years, and this week we take a listen to some great songs, some of them very rare!
In the news, the Muppets, Music & Magic touring exhibition, presented by the Jim Henson Legacy, made a recent stop in Cleveland, OH. There are two news stories covering the event (read the first article and the second article), both of which talk about the special guest appearance by Bonnie Erickson.
A good article profiling Avenue Q’s Rick Lyon can be found here. A reaction to the rumor of the Power of the Dark Crystal’s DVD release, which we learned was false, can be found here. Frank Oz’s Death at a Funeral made this writer’s Top 5 Films of the year.
From the Muppet News Flash, we learn that Fraggle Rock Season 4 will be out on DVD soon. We also get to hear from Oscar the Grouch Behind the Scenes on the set of NBC’s 1 vs 100. If you’re a Sesame Street fans, check out these new DVD releases. Finally make sure to get your 2008 Muppet Fan Art Calendar!
Throw in an awesome review of the Center for Puppetry Arts from ToughPigs, along with some Muppet Beatles music, and we’ve got a show!
Questions/Comments can be sent to me@muppetcast.com, phoned in to the voice mail line at 614-364-4270, or posted online at the Muppet Central Forums.
Have a great week!
