It’s official! The MuppetCast (and thereby its host Steve Swanson) will be visiting New York City for the first time ever! Plans are being made right now, and the stonecarvers are hard at work setting the plans into…well, stone. We ran out of paper here at the office.

Time for the pretty-much annual MuppetCast Salute to America! This extensive episode includes tons of Muppet audio pieces that reference the US States, and every year we get closer and closer to having Muppet audio for every single one! This week I’m joined by Muppeteer Bill Barretta! Bill and I discuss his numerous Muppet characters, his training as an actor (and how that prepared him for his eventual entrance in the Muppet world), and some of his favorite Muppet moments. Many thanks to Gene as well.

It’s a Muppet Trivia Showdown! I face off against the lads from ToughPigs.com in a no-holds-barred uber-fan matchup to see once and for all who holds the most useless Muppet facts in their head! Monsters and explosions abound!

It’s all about the music this week! Things have been popping left and right here in my neck of the woods and I thought, instead of producing a lot of “rushed” segments, it might be more fun to explore both our favorite and the more obscure Muppet songs we love so much.
Thanks for listening! Questions/Comments More >

I’m joined by listener Sara Allen this week as we discuss a topic we’ve probably overlooked until now: Sesame Street animation! Sara is a big fan of animation as an art form, and is quite knowledgeable on the subject! Check out her blog, the Ink and Pixel Club.

Muppet fan Arianne Gallagher joins me to talk about interesting Muppet conflicts over the years, both character-based and real world cases. Jim Henson’s runaway hit show Stuffed and Unstrung was also profiled recently on Carson Daly, and we have that audio for you.

It was 20 years ago today. Jim Henson sadly left us at age 53, and the world hasn’t been the same since. This week we remember the joy, the wonder, and the magic he created which has left such an enduring impression on our lives. We first experience the “news of the day” More >

Thank you very much, Steve! That is an perfect attraction, no, its better than perfect. Its mupperfect!
I already sent you an e-mail with some questions, but here they go again:
1. Is there any place that I can find the version of The Muppet Show theme song that is played on the attraction?
2. Who voices Waldo C. Graphic? Did he appeared in any episode of The Muppet Show? Did Wayne Allwine voice Mickey at the end? (Hey, if he had a Muppet version of himself, it should be a pig called Wayne Allswine.)
3. It is true that this attraction is getting updated?
Thanks!

“Mupperfect”…I like that!
As far as your questions go, I don’t know of a “clean” version of that theme song used in the attraction, apart from the music I use for Muppet Trivia in the podcasts. If you want a copy of that, I can direct you to a place where you can get it.
Who performs Waldo? That would be Steve Whitmire. Incredibly talented guy, no?
And it is rumored that MuppetVision will be going under refurb sometime soon. Nobody outside of Disney knows when that will be, but this podcaster says the sooner the better. I love MV3D, and will love it even more once the film is digitized, the special effects are improved, and the wall projections actually look convincing again

You just forgot to tell me if Waldo appeared at The Muppet Show and if Wayne Allswine, I mean, Allwine, voiced Mickey Mouse at one of the best cameos ever. Just to fill in, here are my Top 10 Favorite Scenes from The Show, make one too:
1. “Nah nah nah nah nah nah, you couldn’t hit me with a- *eyes pops out* CANNON? Hey everybody, he’s got a cannon!”
2. “Do we have time to go to the bathroom before the next show?”
3. “We can’t you old fool, we’re bolted into the seats!”
4. “Fozzie, thats terrible!”
“You’re right! Needs more sugar.”
5. “Sam, are you ready?”
“Just for a glorious 3 hour finale!”
“You got a minute and a half!”
“OOOOH!”
6. “Oooh! Aahhh! Ow!”
“Enjoying the fireworks?”
“No, your chair is on my foot!”
7. “I have the great honor of presenting Mr. Mickey Mouse!”
“Oh, tatatatataratara! Hello, hi there, welcome to my park, how you’re doing… hello…”
“Wowowowow.”
“What?”
“You are not Mickey Mouse, you are a rat!”
“Rat shmat, besides, they’re tourists… What do they know?”
“Will you get out of here?!”
“Ok, but do I still get my ten bucks?”
“Get out!”
“I got Donald Duck back here…”
“Will you get out too?!”
8. “Great! Now I can start my own footbal team!”
9. “Hey Bear, you are not even funny in 3D!”
“Oh, not you guys, how did you get in here?”
“We entered a contest!”
“Yeah! We lost!”
10. “Oh, sorry, wait, dont shoot! Duck everybody, duck!”
“Quack quack!”
“No, not YOU, THEM!”
Also, I would love the place to get the music.

Waldo never appeared in The Muppet Show, however he did appear in an episode of the Jim Henson Hour (and was at that time briefly performed by Jim himself). To my knowledge, Mickey Mouse was voice by Wayne A. in the film.
Love those quotes! There are dozens and dozens of great lines from both the pre-show and the attraction film. As far as obtaining the official MuppetVision 3D music, I can only parrot what my Disney podcaster compatriots tend to say: Google Is Your Friend.

Will you mention this mupperfect episode on the podcast?
Also, more questions about MuppetVision 3D:
1. The actors who perform Sweetums, they are trained by Disney or The Jim Henson Company?
2. It is true that the Bean Bunny animatronic doesn’t moves his mouth?
3. If you would change only one thing on the show, what would it be?
Thanks!

1. I think the Sweetums training procedures were set up by Henson, but the performers are trained by Disney.
2. It is true. I hope that changes with the refurb but I’m not holding my breath. He’s far enough up the wall that most people won’t notice it.
3. I would really like to see that film upgraded to a clear, digital pictures ASAP.

I got a chance to see the visual of this and it’s great! Would love to get a chance to see if for real! Wish they would do more like this! Can’t help but to think only Jim!!!
