Show #90 – December 28, 2008
Welcome to The MuppetCast! Thanks to listener Kyle W. (and a certain big guy up North in a red suit), we have one final dose of post-Christmas cheer this week. I had this LP when I was a toddler, and every year I have to listen to it in its entirety, or it’s just not Christmas. I’m happy to present the out-of-print album, “Merry Christmas from Sesame Street“, from 1975.
Remember to pick up your copy of “Street Gang: The Complete History of Sesame Street”, now available in stores nationwide! Author Michael Davis is a good friend of the show, and you’ll recall that he was on The MuppetCast in early December talking about all the research, time, energy, and FUN that went into writing this amazing book. Make sure to visit his website and request a personally autographed bookplate sticker to put in your book, giving you an automatically personally signed copy!
Come back next week for more Muppet news, history, trivia, and all around entertainment! January brings with it some exciting opportunities, not only to continue the much-requested Jim Henson Hour series, but also an amazing event concerning Sesame Street and its 40th anniversary.
Comments/Questions can be emailed to me@muppetcast.com, or called in to the studio phone line at 614-364-4270. Make sure to also stop by the Muppet Central Forums and say hello, with thousands of Muppet fans to meet.
Have a great week! Happy New Year!
-Steve

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I’ve been looking for this LP forever. I had it as a kid and played it all the time over Christmas. I can vividly remember the double page spread as you opened the LP cover and followed along with the cartoon drawings. And Burt all wrapped up in Christmas lights on the cover, with the rest of the gang in the background. What a wonderful Christmas present!
